Villa Tortuga (formerly Casa Amarilla) at Playa Las Tortugas is your newly luxuriously refurbished beachfront oasis. You’ll find it nestled on miles of quiet palm-lined beach on the west coast of Mexico just 70 miles north of Puerto Vallarta.
Villa Tortuga has new luxury decorations and amenities such as ultrasoft bath robes and complementary bath or beach slippers for each adult guest. You’ll also be treated to completely natural handmade soaps made especially for Villa Tortuga with different tropical scents, soft and comfortable hypo-allergenic mattress covers with choices of three different pillow densities for your total sleeping comfort, and shampoo, conditioner and body gel provided in each bath.
It’s a remarkable setting with miles of sandy beach and hundreds of acres of mangrove estuary, and is nesting habitat for sea turtles and more than 125 species of birds. Watch as formations of birds nesting in the estuary, such as white ibis, or pelicans fly through the sunset or just over the wave tops, or see whales breach and dolphins play practically in your vast front yard.
Your scenic drive north takes you through areas of old-growth jungle and coastal hills only to drop down to the ocean. Then, turning down the sandy road to Villa Tortuga you enter another world, one that you won’t soon forget. For those of you who would like to leave the driving to us, we can arrange door-to-door transport.

The Interior
Many of the furnishings were custom made in the artisan town of Tlaquepaque and Guadalajara, designed or personally chosen by the owners. The living room’s domed ceiling has incredible acoustics for your choice of music on the stereo.
The dining area comfortably seats six or more guests, adjoins the living great room area, and has its own door to the palapa terrace.
Each bathroom of Villa Tortuga has a unique and interesting design with decorative items hand-crafted by a local artist. There’s a powder room adjacent to the living area for your dinner guests, including a wonderful Mexican onyx sink.
Even the view from the east guest bedroom bath is spectacular, through the palms and out to the beach.
Enjoy a traditional meal prepared by our wonderful cook accompanied by a glass of Chilean wine or a sip of tequila. Sample the real taste of flan or a tres leche cake or make yourself at home in the sunny gourmet kitchen, complete with granite counter tops and other custom features.
The pool and gardens are a treat, full of color and tropical aromas. Have a liesurely breakfast by the pool with a cup of robust Mexican coffee and freshly squeezed juice.
Spacious and Inviting Bedrooms
Villa Tortuga has three spacious and inviting bedrooms, all with their own private bath, accented with personal decorating touches and custom-made cedar doors and windows. Here you see the east bedroom suite, complete with its own terrace and bath.
The west guest bedroom suite also has its own adjacent terrace area with hammock, next to the pool.........
.......and its own spacious private bath with custom stone sink.
Luxury Master Suite
Your master bedroom suite has a wonderfully soft bed and choice of different pillow densities, just as all of the bedrooms at Villa Tortuga. The master bedroom is of course complete with it’s own large bath, plenty of closet space, and terrace looking right down on the beach.
The master bath, with its two custom made basin stands and stone basins, and again a great view from the shower down to the beach.

The ocean views are without compare, except in some of the neighboring Playa Las Tortugas beachfront homes. You have an uninterrupted practically 180 degree beach view, with gardens to the north and the closest homes behind you to the south.

The El Cora Waterfall is found just outside the small mountain village of El Cora, where you’ll discover several beautiful waterfalls. The highest is over 100 feet, and has a wonderful pool at the bottom of it.
The closest golf courses are at Tepíc (about 1 hour 15 minutes) where you can play all day for about $40 USD while your family enjoys the swimming pools and tennis courts of this local country club, and the “Flamingo” (about 1 hour 40 minutes) towards Puerto Vallarta. There are a number of courses around Vallarta including a Jack Nicklaus course at the Punta Mita Four Seasons.
Rental Information
We have a special “couples” rate for a maximum of 2 persons except during holidays.
The villa is normally rented by the week, though stays of 2 days or more will be considered.
No smoking in the home please, and no pets are permitted.
Traditional Mexican meals can be prepared for you by our wonderful cooks.
Airport transfer service is available in our private 10-passenger vehicle.
